Prior to Photo week

-
Yes! Our scheduled is developed based on registrations and expected numbers to photograph each day. Without registration, we will not photograph your child. If you are unsure if you want photo’s, it is best to register as there is no obligation to purchase.
-
If your child attends multiple days, your child may be photographed multiple days, but their first day of attendance in the week is their priority day.
-
Honestly? Nothing! But we do ask that you don’t coach them ahead of time, don’t ask them to smile for the camera, or have practice runs, this just sets expectations for your children to perform which isn’t authentic.
Our photography style is natural, capturing unprompted joy, if we catch your child smiling and looking at the camera naturally, it’s because they’ve been given a reason to smile, not because they have been asked to!
Too much expectation placed on a child beforehand can just increase anxiety levels and given our little ones haven’t been socialised as much in recent years, there’s no need to make a big deal out of it.

I’ve gone old school this year!!
Children that are photographed will each receive a proof sheet for parents to review. A paper order form will accompany it, you may email the order form, or it will be collected & processed after the order deadline.
-
We pride ourselves in the quality of photography we offer our centres. Care and attention is taken to every child and every photo, therefore processing times may take up to 4 weeks post photo week. As soon as the photo’s are ready, the proofs will be delivered to the centre.
Once you place your order, your images will be delivered to the centre, the date will be communicated.

Yes, parents are in the business of forgetting!
We get it!
So, without trying to be annoying, we will send you timely reminders of your impending order deadline, this is set to 14 days from the proofs being supplied to the centre.
-
OK, Ok, so you’ve ignored the reminders?
We get it.
But we move on quickly and archive the files securely once order deadlines pass to keep our systems optimised, therefore….
If you would like to order after the deadline, an administrative fee of $15 applies to retrieve your files and process your order.
Late orders must be sent via email.

If you wish for your child to be changed for photographs, please coordinate this with a centre staff member. Note however, it is not always practical for clothing to be changed to coincide with your child being photographed, as this may interrupt the activity that we are attempting to photograph(naturally). It is reasonable to expect to see your child in a mixture of settings and this may also include their usual clothes as well as their ‘special outfit’.
We do ask however, that during photo week, that you consider neutral tones, colours that compliment your child’s complexion will ultimately enhance the photographs produced. Colours such as Navy, Dark red, sage greens, tans & browns & Beiges are always complimentary. Avoid clothing with large or bold logos that detract from your Childs face, super bright colours also can create colour casts on your child’s skin making colour matching quite tricky for printing.
-
During colder months, it is reasonable to expect children to be outside wearing a jacket. As we always shoot a variety of indoor and outdoor photographs, there is likelihood that your child will be photographed in their jacket whilst outside, unless it is mild enough to remove it temporarily.
Similarly, centre guidelines require that hats are worn during Term 3 & Term 4, hats may be removed temporarily for photo’s and if so, we’ll do our best to smooth out ‘hat hair’ beforehand too.
During warmer months when sunblock is a requirement, we coordinate with the centre as best we can to photograph children before any sun screen is applied. Where this is not possible, we do our best to ensure the suncream is given time to ‘sink in’ before we photograph your child to reduce the likelihood of shiny skin. Note however, that unfortunately, zinc based creams can lead to the skin looking purple or blue under flash or in bright natural light which is very hard to avoid.
-
Let’s talk reality, kids are hard to keep clean & tidy, whether it’s painting wars, snotty noses, scabs on ouchies, or saving breakfast on the cheek for a midmorning snack. We do our best to photograph your children looking their best, but that doesn’t always mean their happiest and we can tell you, they are not always happiest after a good wipe down, so we prioritise smiles!
We do however, offer retouching on any photograph to either remove something you find unsightly for $15 per photograph.
-
We stick to a schedule arriving at the centre most days before 9am and finishing at 11.30am,
Late arrivals: If your child has not arrived by 10am, we cannot guarantee that they will be photographed if we have already left the room they are in.
-
We like to break tradition, but we also do offer group photo’s for centres that like to stick to tradition.
The logistics in ensuring that a group photo is taken everyday is not always practical and inevitably someone always misses out.
Therefore, we prefer offering composite group photo’s as this also helps reduce the feeling of being left out by the children who have not registered, as they will also be asked to sit out of the group shot.
Group composite shots are only offered to the Kinder Graduates at each centre.
In our years of experience, parents tend not to purchase group photo’s for younger children and instead opt for the ‘special friends’ portrait.
-
We understand that sometimes children are unwell or on holiday during photo week. We do have a full schedule, however, if the stars align and give is a day to catch up, then return visits for catch ups require pre-purchased purchases ahead of attendance.
